Our Family Dojo

was founded July 13th, 1992 by our own Chief Instructor - Sensei White, 6th Dan. Riverdale has since instructed many students with the same rigorous methodology and tenet as was instilled in him.

Riverdale promotes Karate as a sport for all ages and genders. Our participants are more than students, they are members. One of our biggest assets is the diversity of our clan. From all walks of life, and all areas of the world, we grow together in character and ability. Self-defence is our purpose, but the by-product is confidence, camaraderie, physical fitness, respect and discipline. Most importantly we have fun.

Authentic

is a word we can apply both to the dynamic of our dojo, and the form of karate we teach. Although karate has changed and modernized; we dedicate ourselves to honouring the methods originally developed by the Shito-Ryu, Itosu Kai forefathers of Okanawa, Japan.
